III. Pi Night- will be held on March 14, 2017 and is put on by the
Math Department. Traditionally they have pizza pies but they
want to change to fruit pie since it is right after school. They
would also like to purchase circular candies for games that will
be played. They are asking for $150.00 (family nights hospitality
line on the treasurers report) to purchase the pies and candies.
Parents and kids will go around, participate in the activities and
once the activity is complete they will get a punch on their
punch card. When the punch card is full they can get a piece of
pie. Motioned by Jennifer Withrow and 2 nd by Teresa Payne.
IV. Election-All offices are open, an email was sent but we did not
receive any responses. All parties that are currently holding
office are willing to stay in their position since no one has
exceeded their term limit. The only position that will be open is
the after school enrichment program and fundraising. A
description of the positions was sent. It was requested for a
description of all offices to be sent out via email again. Most
people want to volunteer, not hold office. It was suggested that
we get the elections done due to end of year approaching fast.
Teresa has an old email showing positions and the description
of the position. Executive committee meets once a semester.
We will post for the upcoming elections. The rules require a
quorum. The elections last year were in person, but the hours
were short. We can have a monitored box so voting will open
for more hours. You must be a current paid member of the PTA
to vote and a current paid member of the PTA to run. We can’t
rely on emails only. Committee Reports:
a. Student Store and Uniform-Business has picked up and
keeping the store stocked is hard. If we continue to bring in
what we are we will be over budget, which is great!! When it
gets closer to the end of the year, we will need to change
the line items. There will be a winter blue sale on
Wednesday. The blueberry muffin and hot cocoa sale for
$1.00 for both, sold as a package. Normally they go for $1.00
each. The uniform closet is full. It will be organized and be
available to the incoming students. We will continue on with
our current vendor for school uniforms. We would like some
sort of donation bin to have set up at the school (new
location) for donations from outgoing 8 th graders or when
they are out grown.
b. Fundraising & After School Enrichment- The alternative
fundraisers is going great. Afterschool enrichment will
continue on. Currently they are doing cookie, cake and
cupcake decorating. There is a lot of afterschool programs
throughout the week.

will be held on May 12, 2017. An invite will be sent out in
March to start planning. Science Night will be held on May 2,
2017 and they would like pizza and cookies.
d. Membership & Box Tops-We will finalize the date as to

be sent out to update everyone on the box top deadline and
potential prize for the winners. There are no new members

handed out. We received some deposits for the month. OSI
assistance was for the 5 th graders bus for their reward OSI.
There are a lot of functions coming up towards the end of
the year.
f. School Update Student led conferences will be held this
Thursday and Friday. Grade cards on available to parent
portal, they will not be printed or sent home. We are
proceeding with the building, a contact has not be signed
yet. The number of students will not change, even though
with the size of the new building we can grow but we would
like it to stay the same. Currently we are at 281 students for
the next year.
V. Open Remarks- Mr. Peckens is the one who is in charge of the
yearbooks. The PTA filters the money but Mr. Peckens will send
out the information.
