Minutes: The 2\/22, 2015 minutes were amended and accepted.<\/p>\n

Officers\u2019 Reports<\/p>\n

Treasurers Report: given by- Sarah Day<\/p>\n
YTD financials were presented.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Fundraising is about $1,000 lower than projected to date.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Request from Charlie Lakins to set aside $2,500 for the IRS as a reserve, just in case a penalty is levied on tax year 2012 reporting. Sarah Day will follow up on IRS\u2019s response to paperwork submitted regarding the matter. Motion was made by Charlie Lakins to set aside $2,500 as a reserve in our budget to cover the IRS if needed. Second by Cindy Rodriguez and passed unanimously.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Principal\u2019s Report: given by Mary Tarango<\/p>\n
Gave update on PARCC testing. Only four students opted out, which did not affect 95% participation needed to receive funding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Next school year will begin a week earlier on Monday, August 31, instead of after Labor Day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Suggested ice cream social still be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 7.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Entertained questions surrounding PTA sponsorships of afterschool clubs and uniform or spirit shirt sales by the PTA.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Submitted report updating plans to host or support the following upcoming events:<\/p>\n
Box Tops Hot Dog Lunch event, Friday, March 20th, 11:30-1:00<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Spring Fling, May 8 (Olympics Theme)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Future planned events include:<\/p>\n
Jump Start Day, 5th Grade \u2013 Tuesday, 8\/11\/15, 7:30 \u2013 9 a.m.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Jump Start Day, 6th Grade \u2013 Thursday 8\/13\/15, 2:45 \u2013 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Ice Cream Social \u2013 Monday, 9\/7\/15<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Discussed having students from all grades receive a welcome packet. A date will be determined for compiling the packets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
The next Spring Fling Planning \u00a0and Social Committee meetings TBA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Fundraising Committee: given by Cindy Rodriguez, Chairperson<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Submitted report updating garbage bag fundraiser from March 13-25<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Bedsheets fundraiser, which raised $600.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Possible pre-packaged school supplies fundraiser for next year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Updated Corporate Sponsorships\/Donations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Box Tops has raised $531 to date, more than in any other year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Wish list supplies have been almost completely donated, with only about 6 items left. Copy paper is an ongoing need.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Corporate sponsorship obtained for document cameras for the Language Arts Department from the Expenditures Committee list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Expenditures Committee: given by Kathi Lakins, Chairperson<\/p>\n
Resubmitted report from Feb. 6 meeting that wasn\u2019t considered during the February PTA meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Requested whether funds are available to purchase anything from the teacher\u2019s proposed expenditures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Motion made by Cindy Rodriguez to dedicate budget funds for three buses for OSIs and the Computer Lab program. Second by Lexi Pickel. Passed unanimously.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Motion to spend $17.65 more for PE equipment welding project made by Charlie Lakins. Second by Sarah Day. Passed unanimously.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

New Business<\/p>\n
Lexi Pickel reported on the Volunteer Spot website and asked members to use it for a fake event to test out its capabilities. It is currently being used for the Foundation\u2019s golf tournament.<\/p>\n
Privacy issues and suggestions for solutions were discussed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Annual State 100th Annual Convention announced and entertained who should be sponsored to go.Will vote on that on April 8 meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Mr. Ashbaugh\u2019s request for funding for the zero hour Glee Club and Band.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Motion made by Sarah Day to approve to give Mr. Ashbaugh \u00a0$500 stipend for the spring, cutting a check when funds are confirmed to be available in the budget. Second by ?????7 in favor. 2 opposed. 1 abstained.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
