{"id":5177,"date":"2019-04-08T21:24:35","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T21:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/21stcenturypa.com\/wp\/?p=5177"},"modified":"2019-04-08T21:24:35","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T21:24:35","slug":"21119-pta-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/21stcenturypa.com\/wp\/?p=5177","title":{"rendered":"2\/11\/19 PTA Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Meeting called to order by Janet Giron at 5:59 pm on Monday, February 11, 2019<br \/>\nAttendance: Jennifer Withrow, Todd Withrow, Janet Giron, Sharon Hart, Mary Tarango, Bianca<br \/>\nBelmonte-Sapien, Crystal Salas, Juliann Salinas,<br \/>\nRebecca from Kenneth Brown Photography presented her company to us for consideration since<br \/>\nMoji photography will be going out of business at the end of the year.<br \/>\nEmily Blea from the Sandia Rotary Club gave a presentation on \u201cDon\u2019t meth with us\u201d as a<br \/>\npossible presentation for our students.<br \/>\nMinutes from the January Meeting were reviewed. Crystal Salas motioned to approve and<br \/>\nseconded by Jennifer Withrow. Minutes were approved with corrections.<br \/>\nSocial Committee-<br \/>\nParents night out will be held on Wednesday, February 13 from 5:30-8:30. Juliann, Mrs.<br \/>\nTarango, and Jennifer Withrow have volunteered run this event. If we do not have 20<br \/>\nparticipants we will cancel the event.<br \/>\nSpring fling will be held Friday May 10 and will be a sock hop theme.<br \/>\nMr. Campbell requested $150.00 for food for Math night March 7, 4pm-6pm<br \/>\nA request was made for a $60.00 budget for supplies for Wax Museum night on March 20, 5-<br \/>\n6:30<br \/>\nMotion was made to:<br \/>\nAllow a budget of $150.00 for food for Math Night by Jennifer Withrow and seconded by<br \/>\nJuliann Salinas. Motion passed<br \/>\nMotion was made to:<br \/>\nAllow a budget of $60.00 for expenses for Wax Museum night by Jennifer Withrow and<br \/>\nseconded by Crystal Salas. Motion passed.<br \/>\nChello Grill will host a fundraiser for the PTA on February 14 and 15, 2019. Teachers will hand<br \/>\nout flyers during conferences and Mrs. Morga will send out an e-mail. We will earn 50% of all<br \/>\nsales with flyers taken in.<br \/>\nStudent Council will also be having a fundraiser at BJ\u2019s on Tuesday, February 19.<\/p>\n<p>Principal Report-<br \/>\nWe Discussed about the \u201cDon\u2019t meth with us\u201d presentation and felt that the presentation should<br \/>\nbe shared with parents before a decision is made to show the students. Mrs. Belmonte-Sapien<br \/>\nwill put together a list of programs for next year and have parents vote what they would like their<br \/>\nchildren to see.<br \/>\nThe building is planned to be finished by April. We were able to get the basketball hoops from<br \/>\nAPS.<br \/>\nBudget will be set at the April Governance Council meeting. We received $171,000 extra for<br \/>\nour budget based on enrolment. We have also requested extra money from the state.<br \/>\nWe are not sure what how grading by the state will be this year for schools since PARCC will<br \/>\nnot be given.<br \/>\nWe are trying to have the band play in the rotunda in Santa Fe. 6 th Grade will be going on an OSI<br \/>\nto talk about the pollinator meeting.<br \/>\nVice Principal\/Title 1 Report-<br \/>\nFamily engagement brochures were created by two students Carley and Amber. Once<br \/>\ncorrections are made, they will be copied and put in the front of the school. They did a great job<br \/>\nand impressed the people at the Title 1 office that our students made them.<br \/>\nMrs. B presented our schools testing data for each department. The presentation is attached. If<br \/>\nparents have any questions, they can contact Mrs. Belmonte-Sapien.<br \/>\nTreasure Report-<br \/>\nWe have 2 new members from last month, 34 members total.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning Balance: $10,031.73<br \/>\nIncome: $1,986.87<br \/>\nWhich includes dues, non-fundraiser fundraiser, and Scrip income<br \/>\nExpenses: $3,293.89<br \/>\nWhich include: Hospitality (Open house, Geo Bee, Science Night), food for meeting,<br \/>\nstudent Store, and Teacher appreciation<br \/>\nEnding Balance: $8,724.71<\/p>\n<p>Motion was made to:<\/p>\n<p>Change our bank from US Bank to Nusenda Credit Union by Sharon Hart and seconded by<br \/>\nJuliann Salinas. Motion passed<br \/>\nSigners will remain the same: Sharon Hart, Crystal Salas, and Juliann Salinas<\/p>\n<p>New Business<br \/>\nWe need to figure out a way to market the PTA<br \/>\nJuliann will put together an email to ask for volunteers for board positions on PTA.<br \/>\nAt Open house, we need to have signup sheets for parents to sign up.<br \/>\nWe need to let parents know that there is so much info that they can get at a meeting.<br \/>\nBox Tops are due soon.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting was adjourned at 7:57pm. It was moved to close the meeting by Juliann Salinas and 2 nd<br \/>\nby Bianca Belmonte-Sapien.
