The minutes from the September 13, 2021 General PTA Meeting were approved as corrected.

Principal’s Report by Mary Tarango:
\uf0b7 Our current enrollment is 365. 390 was the projected enrollment.
\uf0b7 Data Day will be 10\/26. No students will be on campus. The teachers will meet to adjust the
curriculum based on MAP test scores. They will discuss ELTP and there will be an active
shooter presentation and Q&A.
\uf0b7 The quarter ends on 10\/22. Grades will be out by 10\/29.
\uf0b7 Current school improvement projects are improving the HVAC system, a new security
system and installing solar panels.
\uf0b7 Ms. Tarango is now the Covid point of contact person.
\uf0b7 We are hiring a new special ed teacher for the 6 th grade. We will now have a special ed
teacher for each middle school grade level and one for the elementary.
\uf0b7 We still need to hire an EA.
\uf0b7 Ms. Belmonte-Sapien is no longer with us. We miss her and wish her well
President’s Report by Janet Giron:
\uf0b7 The next Governance Council Meeting will be on 10\/21at 5:30 pm.
\uf0b7 Yearbooks are for sale. The link is on the Facebook page.
\uf0b7 Help is still needed after school for the snack bar.
\uf0b7 The art teacher is still looking for some supplies, milk jugs in particular.
Vice-President’s Report by Lani McCarson:
\uf0b7 Still working on Stone Age and Green Jeans fundraisers.
\uf0b7 Help is needed for the Fall Festival.
\uf0b7 Help is needed on Wednesdays for the snack bar.
Treasurer’s Report by Angela Lerner:
\uf0b7 Current balance is $14,613.16.
\uf0b7 Upcoming expenses are dues, hospitality, and reimbursment for the purchase of school
supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Social:
\uf0b7 The afternoon of the 29 th will be good for Halloween activities instead of a Fall Festival on
the weekend. We can buy pumpkins again this year for the kids to purchase, carve and then
bring back to school for a contest.
\uf0b7 Student Council might want to take over some of the Halloween activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\uf0b7 We can ask parents for donations of candy and soda.
\uf0b7 The budget of $700 for Fall Festival should be sufficient.
\uf0b7 Parent volunteers will be needed on the 29 th at 1 pm to help with the festivities.
\uf0b7 Ms. Tarango would like to make Spring Fling an extra big event this year to mark the 21 st
anniversary of 21 st Century Public Academy. May 21 st would be a good date!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Business:
