{"id":8190,"date":"2022-10-14T19:55:57","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T19:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/21stcenturypa.com\/wp\/?p=8190"},"modified":"2022-10-17T19:40:45","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T19:40:45","slug":"9-29-22-sac-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/21stcenturypa.com\/wp\/?p=8190","title":{"rendered":"9\/29\/22 SAC Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>21st Century School Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting<br>Zoom<br>5:30 PM\u2013 6:30 PM<br>In Attendance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Lora Sedore- Chair<\/li><li>Jeremy Peckens<\/li><li>Mikel Wagner<\/li><li>Dorene DiNaro<\/li><li>Rebecca Starrett<\/li><li>Lani McCarson<\/li><li>Not present: Vincent Vargas<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The SAC meeting was called to order by Lora Sedore at 5:30 PM via Zoom Video Conferencing.<br>21st Century School Update of Activities<br>Jeremy Peckens provided an update on school activities since the last meeting.<br>Jeremy stated the organizational chart had been finalized as follows:<br>Superintendent- Mary Tarango<br>Chief Operations Officer- Angie Lerner<br>Principal \u2013 Jeremy Peckens<br>Jeremy provided the latest test results for the State which compared 21st Century scores with the State<br>scores. This is the first time we have been compared directly with the overall State scores and 21st<br>Century exceeded in all categories. Congratulations to all!<br>Recruitment Plan Update<br>Lora and Jeremy provided an update on the recruitment and outreach plan that SAC which included the<br>recommendations of the SAC from the last meeting to the Board. The plan was submitted to the school<br>for use. We are pleased to say student enrollment met its goals for this year.<br>Discussion of Potential School Calendar Changes<br>Lora and Jeremy presented information and challenges on school calendar changes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school is aware that current calendar is a challenge for many parents and is willing to discuss<br>possible solutions.<br>The Governing Board has the final say in any changes.<br>The current schedule was developed with a longer school day which ends up shortening the<br>number of days while fulfilling the number of hours required.<br>The current schedule was developed to accommodate the OSI program but is open to change.<br>In keeping with the school philosophy of open communications with all concerned the<br>administration highly recommends discussion of changes with the teaching staff as well as<br>parents.
