Kindergarten

WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten is such an exciting time when students are being introduced to new fun and exciting ways of learning. Students are learning about themselves, the world and how to be a good classroom family. Within our classroom family students will learn in many ways ranging from, inside the classroom educational hands-on crafts, exploration and OSI.

During this primary age education and learning is made to be fun and engaging. Students will learn the foundation of their education and will learn skills to help them throughout their educational experiences.

In Math, students will learn mathematical concepts including counting to 100, addition, subtraction, place value, measurement and shapes.

In Science, students will learn about animals, weather, basic engineering design, the environment and ecosystem. Students will be engaging with hand on crafts and exploration.

In Reading, students will learn to orally read and decode words. Students will practice letter and sound correspondence and recognition.

In Language Arts, students will practice concepts such as phonics, comprehension, spelling and vocabulary.

In Social Studies, students will learn about the community, historical influences, and culture. Students will engage with the community and work on many activities throughout this experience.

In addition to the classroom subject’s students will learn life skills and habits that will be carried over throughout their life and educational experiences. Student’s will learn social skills, self-regulation, responsibility and problem solving. Independence and growth will be encouraged and taught. We want students to be successful and be their best selves.

Kindergarten is such a fun and exciting time, and we look forward to having such a memorable, productive and fun year in the classroom. We can’t wait to see all the students grow socially, emotionally and academically.
