PTA After School Enrichment Clubs

There are a couple of After School Enrichment Clubs Starting!
The Spelling Bee Club will meet on Thursdays from 4-5pm starting November 17th.  The Spelling Bee is December 6th, so this gives students a couple of weeks to prepare.  Ginger, who works after school in the school store, will be leading this club. Students will work on spelling words through various games and activities.
Life Skills Club will meet every Monday from 4-5:15pm starting November 14th.  This will be an ongoing club meaning that students can jump into the sessions that they would like to participate in.  Sessions are free unless supplies are needed. Some sessions require a student to be at more than one session because of the content.  November’s schedule:
  • November 14th – Introduction to Life Skills
    • Homemade notes/letters
  • November 21st – Basics of Sewing
    • Buttons/hems
  • November 28th – Using a sewing maching
    • Different stitches
    • Repurposing clothes

Update to After School Clubs

Drawing club will still meet on Monday’s.
Colorguard will meet every Monday and Thursday from 4-5:30.  Colorguard is dance or movement using flags and props.  Colorguards teams are usually seen performing with bands in highschool and college.  This activity is open to everyone, both guys and girls.  This will be taught by Mr. Garcia.  First day of practice will be Monday, April 4th.
Infant and Child CPR has been moved to Monday, April 4th and Monday, April 11th.  CPR is open to students, parents and faculty.  Monday, April 4th is a brief instructional meeting only.  April 11th is the hands-on section.  Cost is $12.  If interested, please call Evelyn at 505-903-4900.

After School Club Descriptions

Yoga will still be meeting every Thursday in March.
Drawing  and Juggling will still meet every Monday in March.
New Activities:    
Babysitting Course will begin Monday, March 7th.  This course will meet for 3 Mondays (March 7th, 14th, and 21st).  Class size is limited to 6.
Crochet will meet every Thursday in March.
Birdhouses will meet on Thursday, March 24th.
Planting Gardens will meet on Thursday, March 10th.
