Language Arts
Welcome to the wonderful world of sixth grade reading and writing! We build on our skills of reading and writing throughout the year. This is the time when we begin to create complex writing and find our own voice in written expression. In sixth grade, we also begin to look at literature critically to examine the world we live in. Nightly reading for five out of seven days a week is required to advance skills of both reading and writing. However, students are expected to read and write daily in class through individual, whole class, partner, and small group work as well. All instruction will be used to help students gain the skills required in higher grades.
