21st Century Public Academy District Plan for Enhanced COVID-Safe Practices
1. A summary of current COVID-safe practices that a district or charter school is currently implementing and all enhanced COVID-safe practices a district or charter school will implement as needed, such as student cohorting, cessation of extra-curricular activities for unvaccinated students, prohibitions on spectators and outside visitors, and other mitigating strategies specific to a school’s circumstances, AND
2. A plan for outdoor learning permitting local weather conditions, AND
3. A process for evaluating whether there are particular programs, classes, or grade levels exhibiting most of the COVID cases (in order to target interventions specific to those settings).

1 . Current COVID-Safe Practices Summary: Parents/Staff informed of all COVID Safe protocols, PED Decision Tree and provided with the COVID point of contact information. Unvaccinated staff participate in surveillance testing. Student volunteers participate in COVID surveillance testing. All students, staff, contractors and visitors are screened for COVID Symptoms prior to entry. The isolation room is utilized when needed. If business can be conducted in the lobby, visitors do not enter the school. Students are in cohorts throughout the day and enter/exit through grade specific doors/walkways. There are staggered class dismissals/rotations inside the building. When possible students/staff maintain 6 feet of distance. We closed off our parking lot to cars to give students additional space for after school pick up. Students face one direction to eat/drink indoors or eat outside. Masks are worn at all times unless eating/drinking or during specified outdoor mask break time. Frequent handwashing/hand sanitization takes place throughout the day. Fresh air and filtration run constant. HEPA filters run constant in each space of the school. Tables/Desks are wiped between cohort use. In addition to daily sanitization and cleaning, the school is sprayed and thoroughly sanitized on Wednesday and a weekend day.

2. Enhanced Practices Summary: As needed due to COVID we can implement further student cohorts, in which students remain with one group for the entire day, cessation of extra-curricular activities for unvaccinated students, prohibitions on spectators and outside visitors, and other mitigating strategies specific to circumstances.

3. Outdoor Learning Plan (Weather Permitting): Our school mission is Out of School Learning. Our students go into the community 20 times/year to learn. As needed due to COVID, they can go to the park, gardens, bosque, etc. for experiential learning as part of our Mission. We can also use the outdoor areas around our school, including a large parking lot, for students to sit with their teachers or participate in PE or other activities. Our parking lot has WIFI. Students can use clipboards/laptops to complete assignments while outdoors.
Process for evaluating whether there are particular programs, classes, or grade levels exhibiting most of the COVID cases (in order to target interventions specific to those settings).
On a daily basis, our COVID Point of Contact works closely with our principal, office manager, nurse, attendance coach, athletic director and homeroom teachers to track attendance, monitor absences and personally speaks with each parent/guardian for information.
