Present: Kristin Healy, Doreen DiNaro, Kendra Brown, Florencio Reza, Alfreda Begaye, Victoria Tafoya, Bianca Belmonte-Sapien (absent- Sabrina Seedor)

Agenda: Welcome, Open Forum for Advisory Topics

Welcome and Introductions

Reviewed Purpose for Equity Council Advisory capacity, to represent voice for underserved populations and Equity, CLR Framework Reviewed (Council established Spring 2019)

Open Advisory Forum: (By email) Sabrina- remote learning working well with fewer distractions, increased focus. Victoria- gifted identification in this population and sports participation data review for number of language learners, lessons that expand student voice, venues for further exploration to honor student voice. Kendra- concern over name calling, themes for black equity in education, conversations among adults, topics in social justice, themes in teaching, authors/books. Doreen- special education services good, history months implemented? UNM Guest Speakers. Kristin-other outlets for expression (video/audio), practice point of view, access to text to speech, snap and read, cowriter. Florencio- helping students with frustration and focus without distraction, help with diagnosis of learning needs, counseling services and family supports. developmental disabilities and the challenges with technology during remote learning, emailing teachers to communicate for support.

Next Meeting: Oct. 12, 6-7pm (meetings will occur 1 hour prior to PTA)

Fall Middle School Sports Registration

Fall Middle School Sports Registration is now open for the following sports.

  • Girls Volleyball

Practice will begin October 2, 2020 at 4-5:15p
Tuesday 5-6:15p
Friday 4-5:15p

  • Boys Volleyball

Please register all athletes at the following links below:

All Athletes must register for all sports located on the school athletic tab > Sports Registration. Please find the athlete’s grade and click on the link that will transfer you to the grade level registration form.

Volleyball is available to the following grades:
– 5th Grade
– 6th Grade
– 7th Grade
– 8th Grade

All athletes are required to submit the following for participation:
– Online Registration form- includes (student-athlete contract, athletic waiver, APIAL waiver)
– Physical Form (signed by physicians)
– $55 payment (cash, check, money order)

9/24/20 Internet Outage

Good afternoon Dragon Families. This afternoon we experienced an internet network outage at our school. We are working with our internet provider to correct the situation.

Please reach out to your afternoon teachers if you were unable to meet during learning sessions today.
