5/23/22 PTA Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Janet Giron, President, at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022.
The minutes from the April 18, 2022 General PTA Meeting were approved as read.
Attendance:
Janet Giron, Angela Lerner, Mikel Wagner, Lani McCarson, Rikki Hernandez, Joy Moquino,
Jennifer Elliot
Administration’s Report by Angela Lerner:
 8 th grade graduation will be on May 25 from 6 – 8pm
 Summer Projects – the school will get two portables and a new fence. The portables are a
fix until we can purchase the Income Support building.
 Next year there will be full 1st , 2nd, and 3rd grade classes. There will be either a combo
3rd-4th, or 4th-5th grade class.
President’s Report by Janet Giron:
 Spring Fling was very sucessful. We had good feedback from parents. Next year the school
staff would like it to be during the school day.
 The Ice Cream Social will be on Labor Day. This will be after school starts and many
people will be out of town so we would like to meet with Mrs. Tarango to see if we can
change the date.
 Field Day will be on May 26 at school during school hours.
 Yearbooks can still be ordered. The link is on tha PTA page.
 The Governance Council meeting will be on June 16 at 5:30.
 PTA will be buying signs for graduation for $350. There will be three signs:
Congratulations, Welcome and Dragons. This will come out of the Social budget.

Vice President’s Report by Lani McCarson:
 The PTA will not be selling the supplies bundles next year. We would like teachers to
update their supply lists as there always seem to be items on the lists that the kids don’t use.
 The PTA chest freezer died. Do we need to buy a new one? An upright freezer is $299 and a
chest freezer is $249. We will wait to decide when school starts again.
 We would like to start doing breakfast snacks before school again. We will need to get
administration’s permission.

Treasurer’s Report by Angela Lerner/Mikel Wagner:
 The bank balance is $14,726.48 as of today.
 There is an outstanding reimbursement of $5,28.11 for snack bar.
New Business:
 Lani McCarson moved to remove Janet Giron as a signer on the bank account and add Rikki
Hernandez and Joy Moquino. Mikel Wagner seconded the motion. The motion passed with a
show of hands.
 Janet Giron appointed Joy Moquino PTA Secretary for the 2022-2023 year.

 Sam’s Club Membership: the name on the membership will be changed from Janet Giron to
Lani (Elizabeth) McCarson and Carl Ward-Hersee.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:56 pm.
