Tennis Information

Dear Tennis Team Parents,

Thanks so much for all you do to make tennis a good experience for your child. I am writing today to let you know what is coming up this week.

This Tuesday, October 21, is our last tennis practice, 4pm, Sister Cities Park.

We play our last match of the season on Thursday, October 23, 3:45pm, Albuquerque Academy Chargers @ Albuquerque Academy Tennis Club, Wyoming & Academy. If entering from Wyoming, make a left and go all the way to the east end of the school. You have to walk a little way from the parking lot.

You also need to know that I will be out of town on Tuesday and Thursday. Ms. Tarango will be the coach for Tuesday’s practice and Deb Backus (Alli’s Mom) will coach the match on Thursday. Ms. Tarango and Ms. Backus have also graciously agreed to carpool for those children who need a ride to practice and the match. I will return on Friday.

Our tournament begins on Saturday, October 25. Please have your children at Jerry Cline Tennis Courts (I-40 & Louisiana, SE corner) by 8:30am. We begin play at 9am. I have to submit a roster before 9am, so it is important for me to know who is present and playing in the tournament. We will play at least two matches on Saturday in the double elimination tourney. Play continues throughSunday, October 26. If we win both or at least one of our matches on Saturday, then we will be playing on Sunday, time and place TBA.

The tennis season ends at the end of play in the tournament. We will have a fall sports potluck later in the fall. You will receive information on the potluck.
