“Living Classroom” Project

The 21st Century PTA is planning a “living classroom” for our school – and we need your help!

The project is to turn the large dirt and rock area between the parking lot and street into a green space with fruit trees, planter boxes, a garden space, and seating for outdoor instruction. Our science teachers are planning classes for this.

The first step is clearing off the existing rock and dirt and leveling the area.  Do you know anyone with a bobcat? We need a truck to haul away rock and excess dirt. The next step will be installing underground watering – fortunately there is already a water valve where we need it.  We will need volunteers to help plan, dig, and install the watering system.

This is going to be something all our kids will benefit from!  Can you lend a helping hand?  Please call Charlie Lakins – the incoming PTA President – at (505) 228-5270 to discuss how you can pitch in with this great project and help make our school an even better place.
