Meeting called to order by Adriana Romero at 5:45 pm.

Co-secretaries are not allowed so vote at last meeting is void. Motion by Kathi Lakins to elect Linda Cutler-Padilla as

secretary. Second by Mary Tarango. Passed unanimously.

Motion to approve minutes from last meeting by Sarah Day. Second by Mary Tarango

Treasurers Report – Sarah Day

• Budget/YTD Financial Statement was distributed by Sarah Day, PTA Treasurer

• Taxes and Audit complete for 2012-13 and for 2013-2014

President’s Report – Adriana Romero

• Need regular consistent volunteers for pizza on Wednesdays & Fridays and volunteer for Student Store on

Tuesday

• Biggest fundraiser is the pizza and student store. APS employees cannot collect PTA money so parent volunteer

is crucial

Memberships – Kathi Lakins

• Currently 56 paid PTA memberships.

• PTA is not limited to parents & teachers, open to anyone interested in school/organization.

• Must be a paid member to motion, vote, etc.

• Membership cards issued

Principal’s Report – Mrs. Tarango

• Passed out request for funding from PTA. Request is mostly identical to last year so may already be in the

budget

• If stipend is over $600, will need a 1099

• Robotic stipend – Mrs. Tarango will clarify the fees Mr. Silver is charging

• Request will be held for vote until December 2014

By-Law’s Report

• Passed out changes to consider and discuss at next meeting

• By-Laws have been on website for 30 days

• Will need to send to State for approval before PTA can vote to accept

New Business

• Some parents have asked to Op-out of fundraisers. Tabled.

• PTA Convention in May-100 year anniversary. PTA may be able to pick up some of costs. Tabled.

• Juice Plus Booth at Fall Festival. Will need test subjects who will pay. No cost to PTA. Tabled until Fall Festival

Other

• Ceramics teacher – Karon Stephens talked to a teacher, Alex, who is available to do 2 hours every Tuesday &

Thursday, need for set up & clean up, 10 sessions for $500. Will send out email to community on interest. Will

need 10 participants minimum at $35/each. PTA may have to contribute up to $150. Motion from Sarah for

ceramics, Teresa Payne seconded.
