Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is inviting New Mexico children to ask her questions about the COVID-19 pandemic that has dramatically disrupted their lives since mid-March and canceled in-person school through at least Labor Day.
Please help us spread the word that children can submit questions on this form, by emailing email@example.com or by calling (800) 832-1321. The governor’s staff will screen submissions for themes. If a child’s question is chosen, parents or guardians will be invited to record the child asking their question for playback during a Facebook Live event in September (details to come).
The idea for the event sprang from a comment to the governor by a member of New Mexico’s Economic Recovery Council that her 7-year-old son thought the world was ending. Gov. Lujan Grisham called the boy, answered his questions and came away wanting to offer answers to other New Mexico children.
